Energy efficiency is one of the pillars of dstelecom's network evolution. As the infrastructure grows and becomes more technologically advanced, the company has been strengthening its commitment to more efficient use of resources and the development of increasingly sustainable operations.
This commitment is monitored in a structured manner by our Energy Management Committee, whose mission is to analyse the energy performance of the operation, identify opportunities for improvement and promote the implementation of measures that contribute to more efficient energy management across the entire infrastructure.
Modernisation of infrastructure in POPs
Among the initiatives currently underway, the replacement of equipment in POPs (Points of Presence) in the dstelecom network stands out. These technical points play a central role in the functioning of the infrastructure and represent a significant part of the energy consumption associated with the operation.
The modernisation of this equipment is expected to achieve 9% savings in energy costs, significantly improving the energy efficiency of these facilities, while increasing the performance and reliability of the network.
Integration of renewable energy
At the same time, dstelecom is developing a project to install solar panels at POPs, reinforcing its commitment to renewable energy solutions.
With this initiative, part of the energy required to operate these infrastructures will be provided through own production, reducing dependence on the conventional electricity grid and contributing to operations with a lower environmental impact.
