The network expansion will enable the municipality to achieve 95% coverage by the end of 2026, thereby improving access to digital connectivity in the country's interior.
Dstelecom will expand its multi-operator fiber optic network in the municipality of Freixo de Espada à Cinta, in the district of Bragança, bringing state-of-the-art connectivity to more than 1,300 homes.
The project will bring fiber optic service to the towns of Mazouco, Lagoaça, and Fornos for the first time, strengthening the existing infrastructure in the town of Freixo de Espada à Cinta and in Ligares.
With this expansion, it is projected that by the end of 2026, approximately 3,300 homes will be covered by the network, corresponding to a coverage rate of 95% of the municipality.
The project represents another step forward in the commitment to democratizing access to digital infrastructure, helping to reduce regional disparities and create new opportunities for residents and businesses in rural areas.
As it continues to expand its network, dstelecom reaffirms its commitment to bringing people, businesses, and communities closer together through connectivity. This investment in digital infrastructure helps expand opportunities, support regional development, and prepare communities for the challenges of the future.
