The expansion of dstelecom’s fiber optic network in Macedo de Cavaleiros continues to gain momentum. By the end of 2026, the company expects to have connected around 14,500 homes, which will enable it to achieve coverage of approximately 98% of the municipality.
This growth includes the roll-out of fiber optic connections to around 1,400 homes, as well as the upgrading of the network in the localities of Ala, Vilarinho do Monte and Talhinhas, which will bring coverage to a further 1,000 homes or so.
The expansion also extends to the parishes of Lamalonga, Vilarinho de Agrochão and Espadanedo, bringing new connectivity opportunities to these communities and bringing them closer to the benefits of an increasingly digital world.
More than simply expanding fiber optic coverage, this investment represents an important step towards enhancing the region and improving people’s quality of life, creating new opportunities for local families, businesses and institutions.
